This month we are shining a light on Precision Teaching. Precision Teaching involves making daily assessments of progress and providing immediate feedback to both learners and teachers. Precision Teaching was introduced into the UK (from USA) in the 1970s and 80s and is based on Haring’s (1978) Learning Hierarchy. For more information, see our blog post What is Precision Teaching?

It is important to note that Precision Teaching is a form of assessment and not teaching. If you are unsure what teaching should go alongside your Precision Teaching assessment, see our blog post on Evidence-Based Teaching: How Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching Can Transform Learning.

If you are unsure why Precision Teaching is so useful – you can read about Why should we be using Precision Teaching? here.

Finally, if you are ready to dive into Precision Teaching in its full glory and attempt to implement it with high fidelity in your setting, you can access our 5-star rated training course here. It is written and delivered by Educational Psychologist Dr. Gary Lavan and includes a mixture of workbooks, quizzes, activities and videos.
